So I made my own avocado mayonnaise. But don’t be too proud of me – I made it “my way”. My way actually includes a little real mayonnaise. My main objective wasn’t to have the healthiest “stuff” on Earth. It was to make something I really like (and eat often) a little less unhealthy. Here’s the deal…

Just about every night I have a grilled chicken wrap using ridiculously psychotically awesome “Joseph’s Super Soft Flax, Oat Bran and Whole Wheat Lavash Bread“. It’s so stupidly awesome that I’m not even going to talk about it anymore – other than the fact that if you’re trying to be healthy and you want a really good “wrap” – this is it…

Now… Instead of using a heaping, heaping, HEAPING tablespoon of mayonnaise* I use 75% avocado, 12.5% extra virgin olive oil and 12.5% mayonnaise. Now yes – I do realize this is more fat in one scoop than healthy people eat in a week (/sarcasm) – but at least it’s mostly healthy fat and a very small amount of mayonnaise compared to what I’d normally eat for my evening meal on a daily basis.

* Don’t be judging me! I’ve been eating a LOT of vegetables lately (mainly steamed broccoli, cauliflower, kale and spinach) but my “dressings” are mayonnaise based. And I’ve been losing weight because it’s still healthier eating – when all is said and done – than before. At some point or another I might find a better alternative than mayonnaise but until then – I’m sticking with this…

I made my own Avocado Mayonnaise. My way…
